Description

The man and the sea

Free man, you shall love always ilmare!

The sea is your mirror;

you aim, in the infinite development of its waves, your soul.

Your spirit is no abyss less bitter.

You take pleasure to dive within your own image;

You embrace it with eyes and arms,

and your heart is distracted at times from his beat at the sound

This lament indomitable and wild.

You're both in a time of darkness and discrete:

Man, no one has ever measured the depth of your depth;

sea, nobody knows your secret riches,

so jealous of you keep your mystery.

Yet there are countless centuries fight

without pity or remorse,

so you love carnage and death,

eternal wrestlers, brothers.

(Charles Baudelaire - 1821-1867)
