For this painting, I was inspired by two works by two great artists whom I deeply admire: Weeping Woman painted by Picasso in 1937 and Princess de Broglie painted by Ingres between 1851 and 1853 — a meeting between classicism and the avant-garde. The central figure evokes the aristocratic features of the 19th century through her composure and refinement. However, the face — and to some extent, the hands — completely break away from this tradition; it is a true rupture, a cry that suddenly reveals itself, tearing through the cage of convention. The carefully rendered dress, rich in realistic details and folds, represents appearance, tradition, and social role, while the face expresses a more chaotic and authentic inner world.

Per questo dipinto mi sono ispirato a due opere di due grandi artisti che ammiro profondamente:" Donna che piange" dipinta da Picasso nel 1937 e "Principessa de Broglie" dipinta da Ingres tra il 1851 e il 1853 — un incontro tra classicismo e avanguardia. La figura centrale evoca i tratti aristocratici dell'Ottocento per la sua compostezza e raffinatezza. Tuttavia il volto — e in parte le mani — si stacca completamente da questa tradizione; è una vera e propria rottura, un grido che si svela improvvisamente squarciando la gabbia della convenzione.
