THE PRESENCE OF AN ABSENCE A POEM BY EDITORDREAMS
POEM THE PRESENCE OF AN ABSENCE
There is a place that does not appear to the ‘Eyes’,
a ‘Secret Room’ within the breath of ‘Time’,
where that which has gone continues to dwell in silence.
I seek you in the voids of ‘Words’,
in the ‘Shadows’ that the sunset casts upon memories,
in the slow beat of a ‘Memory’
that refuses to forget.
Absence bears your “Invisible Face”,
walks alongside my days,
brushes against my hands without touching them
and speaks with the “Voice of Silence”.
And so I cherish you
in the Infinite Space of the Soul,
where time does not wear away,
where memory does not fade.
For the deepest of all Presences
is that which lives in Absence,
like a ‘Star hidden by the Dawn’
that continues, unseen, to illuminate the Sky.
