The term "Natura morta" has emerged during the XVII and XVIII centuries in the various regions of Europe to show by a collective name Victorian representation of inanimate reasons.

The Dutch gave the name to these pictorial representations of inanimate subjects "Still-leven" oxy painting of real models on it is modeled both the Germans "Still-Lehen" as English "Still-life".

In France they were translated from first with "nature Reposée" and therefore "natura morta" in Italy.

The term Natura morta was preceded by terms such as "natural things, small things" in use until the XVI century.

All this is not historically correct.

Each work must be interpreted in the cultural context of his time, in this case the works are represented by the artist titled "Composition in Red"
