This painting depicts a surreal, dreamlike urban scene, characterized by precise geometric architecture and sharp shadows. The buildings recall classical architecture or the "Mediterranean style" of the Fascist period, which combined motifs from classical tradition with the regime's imperial rhetoric. The perspective and the play of shadows evoke a sense of stillness and mystery, reminiscent of the Metaphysical art movement led by Giorgio de Chirico. The occasional presence of sculptural elements or human figures accentuates the enigmatic and contemplative atmosphere.
