The Colours Within
by Antropoetico
Description
A woman's face built from broken brushstrokes of turquoise, yellow, pink, orange and violet, like the tiles of an emotional mosaic. No colour is the "real" colour of skin: each one is a feeling, a memory, a wound or a light. Thick, gestural black hair frames the face and sets it apart from a quiet grey-mauve background.
The red, half-open lips are the only sharp point, an almost theatrical call, while the dark, deep eyes remain a mystery. This portrait does not describe a person, but everything a person carries inside.
Acrylic on canvas, 40x50 cm (15.7x19.7 in). Original, one-of-a-kind artwork, signed by the artist (ANTRO26). Ready to hang.
