Melanie Meyer - contemporary paintress

My name is Melanie Meyer, born in 1983 in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria. Since 2014, I have dedicated my life to art. In the years prior, I worked in the hotel industry and lived in Switzerland for 14 years, where I worked in various hotels and restaurants in Davos, Vals, and Zurich. However, the birth of my child opened a new chapter in my life, during which I discovered my creative side and developed my skills as a self-taught artist.

My artistic journey began in 2014 with the creation of plaster casts of my pregnant belly to celebrate the beauty of motherhood and capture precious moments. The turning point came in 2017 when I began creating sculptures of individuals who had been victims of sexual violence in their childhood. These harrowing stories deeply affected me and led to the creation of my art exhibition, "Because What Must Not Be, Cannot Be." With this project, I want to show those affected that they are not alone.

My art is a voice for those who are often unheard and a call to engage with these important issues. My wish is to create a social awareness through the power of art that can bring about change. I invite everyone to join me on this journey and to fight together for a better future.
