I sought to capture the ethereal atmosphere of this historic village, "the dying city," isolated and suspended like an island in the sky, surrounded by a sea of ​​fog. The composition is structured on a 60x30 cm canvas, which allowed me to emphasize the horizontal layout of the village perched on the tuff cliff. In the center, the soaring bell tower rises, a visual focal point, while the houses cluster around it, protected by the walls. The oil technique allowed me to apply the nuances of the fog with soft brushstrokes, contrasting them with the texture of the dark branches in the foreground, which frame and give depth to the scene. Above, the mountains blend with the pastel hues of the sky, creating a fluid transition between sky and fog. It is an invitation to contemplate the ephemeral beauty and endurance of a place that defies time.
