"There are images that imprint themselves on the mind from the first moment, becoming an indelible memory. This painting was born from precisely that kind of impact: it is the very first image that unfolded before my eyes as soon as I entered Gallipoli.
Immersed in the evocative power of that moment, I felt a profound need to transfer to canvas not only the landscape, but the entire baggage of emotions that pervaded me. Through the oil painting, I sought to give substance to the imposing historic walls of the fortress, which proudly stand out like a mirror on the water. The heart of the work lies precisely in the golden and vibrant reflections of the sea, in the intimate details of the moored boats, and in the light flight of the seagulls in the foreground, symbols of the freedom and wonder I breathed upon arrival. For me, this work represents a true emotional travel diary."
