A work born from pure emotion and a deep connection to the Phlegraean Fields. Inspired by a photograph along the Via Napoli waterfront, the composition captures the spectacle of the sun setting over Capo Miseno, Bacoli, and the islands of Procida and Ischia on the horizon.

The combined use of oil and acrylic lends warmth and depth to the fiery sky, while the gesso technique lends a vibrant textural texture to the foreground of the cliff and the crashing waves.
