Description of the work
With this painting, I wanted to capture the profound stillness and suspended atmosphere of Lake Scanno, a place where nature seems to be in constant dialogue with silence.
The viewer's gaze is ideally drawn into the scene by the intricate foliage of a tree in the foreground, whose branches reach out as if to frame the body of water. I chose to apply oil paint, seeking a clear yet harmonious chromatic contrast: on one side, the cool, calm hues of the lake, which transition from clear blue to deeper hues, and on the other, the warm, almost burnt tones of the rocks and vegetation in the background, struck by the light.
The composition, enclosed in a 54 x 54 cm square format, creates an interplay of natural backdrops that draws the eye toward the horizon, offering the viewer a moment of intimate connection with the strength and serenity of the high-altitude landscape.
