“The Hell inside of You” is a panel in which the author proposes an original view of Hell as a concrete and earthly reality. In order to comprehend the meaning of the paint, it is necessary to know the creative process behind it. In fact, under the white veil which covers most of the panel, the author had previously painted an eye, which recalls human most deep and intimate nature.

The latter aspect has been almost totally oppressed and erased by the white layer, which symbolizes the Nothing, a concept that from Rowe’s point of view comprehends superficiality, dogmatism, and unnaturalness of contemporary society.

Therefore, Hell is identified as a misleading and disillusioned lifestyle, focused on the search for superficial dreams, typical of today’s world.
