In painting "Dubrovnik," I wanted to capture the unique contrast between the imposing stone architecture of the old city and the enveloping immensity of the Adriatic Sea. The warm tones of the terracotta roofs stand out boldly against the backdrop of the turquoise and deep blue waters, conveying a sense of protection, history, and serenity. The textured oil brushstrokes convey the warmth of the coastal sun and the fluid movement of the waves lapping against the ancient walls.
