I took the most beautiful pictures with my eyes and I reproduced them with my heart
Winter Sunset was born from a deep and visceral connection with my hometown, Pozzuoli. In this work, I wanted to capture the dramatic and evocative stillness of a moment when nature speaks forcefully: a sky filled with dark, stormy clouds is cut on the horizon by an intense blade of golden and orange light, illuminating the coastline and reflecting in the waters of the small harbor.
The boats nestled on the shore, sheltered by the cliffs, tell the story of my hometown's daily life, made of waiting, sea, and deep roots. It is a painting I am particularly fond of, and today it takes on an even more vivid meaning: a tribute to my adopted hometown, a reminder of its wounded yet unshakeable beauty, and the promise that even above the darkest skies, light always breaks through.
