2008–2009 – Early exhibitions

Participation in group exhibitions and art events in the Lazio region. In 2009, De Bonis held his first solo exhibitions at the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Cerreto Laziale and in San Polo dei Cavalieri.


2010 – Rome, exhibitions and awards

1st Prize – Best Artwork at the “Il Sodoma – Capire il Rinascimento per formare l'arte contemporanea” Award, with Teatro Marittimo.

“Voglia di Pennello” exhibition, Pentart Gallery, Rome.

Critics' Award at the Trofeo Calcata and a review by Daniele Radini Tedeschi published in L'Aperitivo Illustrato.

“Il Piacere – dal colore alla forma”, Galleria Consorti, Via Margutta, Rome.

Beginning of a collaboration with Scuderia Radini Tedeschi.

The works Les Femmes Fatales and Maison Close were presented at Casa d'Aste Antonina in Rome.


2011 – Awards and exhibitions

1st place in the erotic art category at the 4th Premio della Lupa, Rome, with Les Femmes Fatales.

Participation in “Il Senso del Sacro”, Palazzo Maffei Marescotti – Galleria Vaticana “La Pigna”, Rome.

Exhibitions at Galleria Margutta, Domus Talenti and Quantum Leap Gallery in Rome; participation in the 34th Trofeo Internazionale Medusa Aurea.

Solo exhibitions at the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art in Cerreto Laziale and in San Polo dei Cavalieri.

Participation in “Arte Metropolitana”, followed by a period of collaboration with Quantum Leap Gallery.

“Tracce di vita” exhibition, Museo Archeologico Faggiano, Lecce.


2012 – Introspection and eroticism

Participation in several exhibitions in Rome and throughout Italy. From 7 December 2012 to 15 January 2013, De Bonis held the solo exhibition “Dal classico all'erotico informale” at Hotel Villa Pirandello in Rome, curated by Jlenia Bennati with a critical presentation by Prof. Claudio Lepri. On 21 December 2012, Inside Art featured his work in the article “Solo prostitute e bordelli”.


Since 2018 – Beyond Reality

His artistic research has progressively returned to places, architecture and monuments, transformed through memory and imagination. This evolution gave rise to “Beyond Reality” (Oltre la realtà), the research that characterises his current production.


Works by Gildo De Bonis are held in private collections in Italy and abroad.
