VEKTOR.AZRAEL is the first work in METATRON ZOLDAMEDA, the second of four series. This monumental kinetic-luminous object installation extends two metres perpendicular to the wall while weighing only 4.9 kilograms. Suspended from a single structural anchor, it establishes its own spatial conditions without auxiliary construction, architectural intervention, or dependence on monumental space.

What the eye reads as a mass of hundreds of kilograms weighs less than a cat. This radical contradiction between optical mass and physical lightness initiates the work.

At first encounter, the scale, projection and apparent material density produce a prediction error. The visible object contradicts the body’s established understanding of gravity, stability and weight. Recognition remains unresolved attention intensifies and the viewer moves closer to acquire further sensory information. Before language categorises the object, the body has already entered into a spatial relationship with it.

The material resists immediate identification. It registers simultaneously as rock, corroded metal, fossilised matter and an unknown geological formation. This sustained perceptual ambiguity creates a pre-semantic cognitive bypass: automatic classification is interrupted, while the body continues to respond.

The object initially activates an expectation of physical risk. Its stability, radical lightness and single-point suspension then reverse that appraisal. Perceived danger is converted into somatic safety. Heightened attention ceases to operate as alarm and becomes concentration, stillness and perceptual quiet. The awe response occurs within this transition, before verbal interpretation begins.

VEKTOR.AZRAEL is formed through controlled decay. Disintegration becomes an organisational force: energy released through decay is returned to the structure of matter, reducing informational entropy. Within the surrounding space, the same principle suppresses informational excess. Peripheral stimuli recede and the installation establishes a concentrated perceptual field.

Its acoustic properties absorb sound and reduce reverberation around the installation. Acoustic noise and informational noise are therefore diminished through the same spatial operation, altering the sensory conditions of the room before their source is consciously identified.

Light activates a latent state of the relief. Metallic, geological and shadow-bearing structures emerge from the same surface as the luminous conditions change. The relationship between the viewer’s movement, the evolving chiaroscuro and the illuminated relief makes perception kinetic: the work never delivers one stable image, position or piece of information.

VEKTOR.AZRAEL is Autarchy-specific. It does not adapt itself to the authority of architecture; it carries its own spatial, perceptual, acoustic and luminous conditions into every location. Monumentality is generated by the work itself rather than by the dimensions of the room.

Reality here is produced between matter, body, gravity, distance, sound and light—at the precise point where vision ceases to confirm what the body believed it knew.
