Description

"Give me at dawn a fragrant garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed."

(W. Whitman).

"One of the most fascinating things about flowers is their wonderful reserve."

(H.D. Thoreau).

"Flowers nourish the soul."

(The Quran).

Talking about still life is a contradiction: nature, by its definition, is alive, but it becomes dead when it is removed from its habitat (the flower cut from the plant, the fruit picked from the tree).

The artist then takes on a challenge: he portrays a flower destined to die and thus makes it eternal.

His skill consists in deceiving, making inanimate objects and dead beings appear real and alive.
